The Galactic Empire outlawed assassin droids after a notorious incident on Capriorli where a single rogue robot massacred over twenty thousand swoop-racing spectators to ensure the death of just one of the spectators, Governor Armel Bakli. This Imperial decree however did nothing to stop the Empire from secretly constructing its own assassin droids. Companies like Sienar Intellegence Systems were contracted secretly to build assassin droids for the Empire, and the E522 was contracted by the Empire for Sienar to built it. This droid was a weapons-laden executioner that was intended to silence the Emperor's earliest and most vocal critics. During the first few years of Emperor Palpatine's New Order a limited number of classified E522's lurked in the shadows of the galaxy. The E522 isn't a particularly tall droid but its hulking upper frame makes it look like a cyber-augmented weightlifter, and within its heavely amrored core is an internal power plant that provides firm strength to its limbs. The narrowiest supports on the entire body are in the droids torso and of which is under tremendous stress, and is also the most vulnerable part of the body, but never-theless the chance of something hitting this area is very little. The E522's flat head provides a minimal target profile, and it also contains a sensor package that excels at picking up residual heat signatures. Also the droid is equipped with two spot lights that are lockated on either side of the droids head, and these lights are used to blind and disorient targets, and to help prevent them from mounting last-ditch defensive attacks. The droids manipulator arms fold up within its small belly cavity, and its thick tank treads provide mobility and are capable of a top speed of thirty kilometers per hour. The E522's weapons include its right arm which consists of a multifunction apparatus that incorporates a heavy repeating blaster, a neurological needler, and an ion cannon for disabling personal shielding fields. The droids left arms contains a cannon which fires a hunter-seeker projectiles, and the droids external power cells are nessary to keep these powerful weapons fully charged at all times. The natorious crime lord Jabba the Hutt even owned a E522 assassin droid, even though he seldom assigned the droid to jobs. One afternoon he got bored and ordered E522 to be slathered with dripping meat juice and thrown into the rancor pit. This bloodthirsty beast eventually spat out the indigestible lump of metal, and then the droid was just thrown in the scrap heap. This is were the Jaws found him and they repaired droid then they sold the droid to Jabba the Hutt's crosstown rival Lady Valarian. The female crime boss put the reprogrammed assassin droid to work as a courier and delivery boy. | |
