The E-Web repeating blaster is among the most powerful and heavy repeating blasters in the Imperial arsenal, the BlasTech E-Web repeating blaster is among the most affective against vehicles and infantry units. The E-Web ("Emplacement Weapon, Heavy Blaster") has an optimum range of 200 meters, and a maximum of a half a kilometer, and it offers enough fire power to punch through a snowspeeder's armor plating. For the E-Web to be run the best it requires a crew of two one to fire the weapon and the other to monitor and adjust the Eksoan Class-4T3 power generator. The 4T3 is prone to overheading and explosion even though it has an advanced Gk3 Cryocooler cooling unit. The E-Web's power is fed through a three meter long conduit that connects to the base of the BlasTech TR-62 autocushion tripod, and the E-Web's built in comlink provides long-range and a built in encryption module for secured communications. The computerized fire control and targeting system includes Starvision and IR low-light enhancement modules for use in night combat. The E-Web takes almost 15 minutes to set up due to the fact that when 4T3 is cold it takes a while to charge, so some Imperial units precharge the generator, and also it takes a few minutes to calibrate the targeting software. A single crew member can operate the E-Web but it greatly reduces the weapons effectivness. BlasTech and Merr-Sonn Munitions had a joint venture in the E-Web and Merr-Sonn has dubbed its version as the EWHB-10, and the E-Web is not a new weapon but there are diffrent modles that include: the F-Web, and the EWEB(15). The F-Web adds a small shield generator that is powerful enough to prodect against small side arms, but the shield generator does require a third crew member. The EWEB(15) was released a year after Emperor Palpatine's death and offers improved fire control and targeting software. The generator has an added autoconfigure setting which makes the weapon able to be set up in less than five minutes. The advanced Gk7 Cryocooler offers higher power without the risk of overheating, that allows continuous fire for up to one hour, and also many EWEB(15) units are equipped with a shield generator. | |
