The Lightsaber is the weapon of a Jedi and is one of the most famous weapons in the galaxy. The handgrip is approximately 24 to 30 centimeters long and features a mirrorlike concave metal disk called a blade emitter on one end. The controls are an activation lever, a recharge socket, diagnostic readouts, and in some cases a blade length and intensity controls. The lightsabers jewels focuse the power cell's energy charge into a tiny light parallel beam that emerges from the blade emitter as a vibrant blade of pure energy. The energy beam from a lightsaber can cut through almost anything, and the blade itself has no weight and emits no heat. A Jedi Knight takes years of study to master the weapon. A Jedi Knight custom-builds there lightsaber. Most lightsabers have customized features that can include: pressure-sensitive activation levers, and multiple crystals that allow the user to manipulate the amplitude and length of the blade. The handgrip is like a work of art because it often features designs native to the Jedi's homeworld.
