Grand Admiral Thrawn became the Empires highest ranking nonhuman and the Alliances greatest threat. After Palpatine took power he nestowed and unheard of honor on him, Thrawn became one of the Grand Admirals of the Empire and the only nonhumn one. Five years after the Rebel Alliance defeted the Empire at Endor Grand Admiral Thrawn took over and quickly brought the broken Empire under his military control. Thrawn quickly took power and selected the Star Destroyer “Chimaera” as his Flag Ship, Thrawn’s Fleet included: four other Star Destroyers, twelve Strike-Class Cruisers, twenty-two Carrack-Class Light Cruisers, and thirty full squadrons of TIE Fighters. For a long time Grand Admiral Thrawn controled the remains of the Empire and caused the New Republic to fear him and his might. He conducted serveral major campaigns and smaller ones, but even the Grand Admiral would have never suspected that he would be killed by his own people, the Noghri assassins killed Thrawn after finding out that the Emperor had used them. When the Admiral died it dealt a very deadly blow to the Empire which it would never recover from.
