Grand Moff Tarkin was one of Senator Palpatine’s early supporters durring the Old Republic, Tarkin was Govener of the Seswenna Sector deep in the Unknown regon of space. Tarkin brought with him his ways of rulling and the most famous was his saying “Rule through Fear of Force, Rather than the itself.” Durring the Emperor’s rain over the Galaxy Tarkin had a secret installation set up inside the Maw near Kessel, it is said that not even Palpatine knew of the Maw installation, at the Installation Tarkin had some of the brightest military designers in the Galaxy working for him. When Tarkin visisted the Maw he brought back the plans for the Death Star a planet destroying weapon and it’s cheif designer Bevel Lemelisk. After Tarkin showed the plans to the Emperor the Emperor ordered that a protype be built and tested, Lemelisk went back to the Maw and there they constructed the protype of the weapon. Durring construction of the final Death Star Bevel Lemelisk and Tarkin controlled the over all construction of the Super Weapon. Tarkin used Wookies from the planet Kashyyyk as a major bulk of the workers. When the Death Star was completed it was over 120 Kilometers in diameter and it was the size of a Class IV Moon, at this size the Station housed: over 265,000 soldiers, gunners, gound troops, starship support crew, and pilots when all brought on board the population total was over 1 Million beings, and these were minimum crew stadards too! For weaponry inadditon to the superlaser, it had 15,000 Capital Ship Turbolasers, over 700 Tractor Beam projectors, 7,000 TIE Fighters, 20,000 Military and Transport Vessels, and over 11,000 Combat Vehicles. This was Tarkin’s ultamite weapon in the universe. Tarkin also became the only being exept Emperor Palpatine, to ever out rank the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. After the completion of the Death Star Tarkin orderd the Superlaser to be tested on the planted that constructed it, after the capture of Princess Leia Organna of Alderran Tarkin decided to Show the Galaxy the True Power of the Empire and the Destructive power of it too. He ordered the Death Star to destroy Leia’s homeworld, durring the battle of Yavin Tarkin was killed abord his own super weapon when a proton torpedo from Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing destroyed the Main Reactor.
