The Alliance A-Wing Fighter is the fastest fighter in the galaxy at the time of the Battle of Endor. The Alliance General Jan Dodonna, and Rebel Engineer Walex Blissex designed the A-Wing Fighter for the Alliance. The A-Wing is still the Republics main front line fighter and it is a difficult fighter to fly beacuse it keeps pushing the limits of performence. The A-Wing Starfighter is constantly under stress and all of it's systems require constant maintence. The ship is only 9.6 meters long causes the ship to becompacted into a small space with all the equipment and even the lightest hit can cause critical damage and the pilot is totaly exposed to fire. The A-Wing is a super fast fighter but often if it is hit once that will be enough to destroy the fighter so the A-Wing relys on its speed and manuverablity to stay out of danger. The A-wing has two wing-mounted pivoting blaster cannons which can manuver up to 0 degress up or down, the A-wing also has its own power generators for each of the cannons, and sometimes the A-wing is fited with concussion missles. The A-Wing also has a sensor jamming system and the jammer also jams communications allowing the fighter to strike the target before it can summon help. The A-Wings speed comes from the 2 Novaldex J-77 "Event Horizon" engines and relys on centered thruster-control jets for manuverablity, althought the J-77's have thrust vectoring. The A-wing's orginaly was designed to guard bases and convoys, but Alliance Generals learned it was better in "hit-and-fade" missions.
