The Amphibion is designed and manufactured by SedriMotors LTD., the Amphibion played a major role in the Battle for Calamari six years after the Battle of Endor. The Amphibion is used by a number of sea defense forces, like the Mon Calamari Defense Force, and the New Republic Sea Commandos. The Amphibion was designed for troop transport and was designed to work in teams of 2 to 16 vessels, and there design also allowed them to deliver troops over a large area quickly. The Amphibion uses a series of small hover very quiet hover engines to produce an air cushion under the Amphibion to hover it over the seas, and it uses a Triple Bank of Large Hover Jets placed in the back for propulsion, which can propel the ship over 100 Kilometer per hour over the sea and flat land. The engine design makes for space saving and lets there be a bigger cargo bay for up to 20 Troops and all their gear, the Amphibion also has a redundant hover-drive system, so a number of engines can fail and the ship will still be able to move but speed will be greatly reduced. The hover system is very quiet which allows the Amphibion to slip past enemy sentry post without being detected, and the engines are also able to be water cooled which also means that scanners are less likely to detect them, which means the Amphibion are perfect vehicles for Sea Commandos on stealth assaults. The Amphibion is lightly armored so they are not suited for heavy combat, the Amphibion doesn't have many weapons except for the gunnery tower, the gun is set on a rotating base and can be used by the gunner or controled by the copilot, the foward command compartment is fully sealed and seats two. The Amphibion's only other weaponry is what ever the troops carry with them, and the troops are protected very little the armor around them is light and if a heavy laser blast hits it the blast will penatrat the armor. The top of the vehicle of has a hatch for loading and unloading but it makes the troops vulnerable to fire, the Amphibions are cheap and can be mass-produced. Heavy repulsortanks, airspeeders, and heavy water-combat vehicles usally support the Amphibion are used in heavy combat missions. | |
