The Rebel Snowspeeders are a modified version of the Incom T-47 Speeder, the snowspeeder is designed for low atmospheric flying with a repulsorlift unit on either side of the cockpit. The drive systems circuitry is left exposed benith the snowspeeder for easy access to repair it. The snowspeeder has mechanical brake flaps to control speeds and turns, the snowspeeder can reach speeds of 1000 kilometers per hour, but the effective combat speed of the snowspeeder is 600 kilometers per hour. The speeder has no shields so it relies on it's maneuverability to survie against attacks. The Snowspeeder is equiped with a harpoon gun and twin laser cannons, one on each of the wings. The snowspeeder has room for 1 pilot and a gunner which faces toward the back of the snowspeeder. The speeders targeting systems allows the gunner to target the foward gun systems but the pilot can choose to handle them. The snowspeeders were used by the Rebel Alliance in the Battle for Hoth against the Empire's AT-AT Walkers, Luke Skywalker and Rouge Squadron used the Snowspeeders harpoon to rap around the AT-AT's legs and trip the Walker because there weapons couldn't penatrat the armor on the walkers. The Rebel Alliance now uses the speeder in many diffrent terrians.
